Thank you Saj!

Very much like it did when Jude Saverus departed the club in June 2022, today feels like another chapter closing as Edgware legend Sajith Sriwickramasekaran headed to Australia, leaving behind a lifetime's worth of memories and match winning performances.

It's very easy to run out of superlatives when describing sportsmen, but Sajith really was a sensational Edgwarian cricketer. Not only did he have a natural gift for the sport, but his charisma and energy meant he leaves the dressing room missed by both players and fans alike. More than most though, is the impact his departure will leave on the pitch. Edgware will certainly miss every one of his 1,800 runs, 90 wickets and 50-odd catches and should he continue to play cricket in his new home of Australia, then the side receiving his skills have got a fine player in their midsts.

On behalf of everyone at Edgware Cricket Club, we wish Saj all the best on his new adventure and hope we see him for a couple of loan spells in the not so distant future!
