It almost seems inevitable at this time of year, but Dean Veerapen is believed to be in talks with French side Le Poosie CC in what is believed to be a potential £20 transfer move.

The Mauritian bowler has had a long history of will they, won't they moves. In 2021, he was rumoured to be moving to Belmont & Edgware, sparking the Edgware Board to offer him a stronger contract and more bowling opportunities. And then again in 2023, Dean refused to fill out his match day availability resulting in former captain Sajith Sriwickramasekaran dropping Veerapen from the match day squad. It is here that the first round of talks with Paris-based club, Le Poosie CC seemed to have started.

In recent weeks, Dean Veerapen has travelled to France on two ocassions to hold talks with Le Poosie CC chairman Sebastian Le Poos, who made his fortune in the oil industry and cosmetics before purchasing a variety of sports clubs within Paris. It is belived that the club is set to offer Dean the opening bowling spot, the opportunity to bat within the top 5 and vice-captaincy duties but the Mauritian's recent injury record seems to be delaying proceedings. Edgware have attempted to offer Dean a revised offer, but it seems they are unable to guarantee him a top 5 batting spot as requested with the quality of batsman at their disposal.

The club reached out to Dean who has 2 years remaining on his current Edgware contract, but the opening bowler has declined to comment.

Elsewhere, Vidanda Galgamuwa has signed a new 3-year contract alongside Ash Balkaran and both will maintain captaincy positions for the 2026 season. New contracts have also been agreed with Shuraj Vekaria, Abdul Hadi and Prashant Pindolia. However, it appears Edgware will lose the services of Jeet Swaminaryan as he is expected to play Saturday Cricket at an undisclosed club for the 2026 season, and opening batsman Ciaran Hosty's contract is set to expire on 28th February.
