Sajith Sriwickramasekaran announced as new Edgware CC captain
Edgware Cricket Club have today announced that Sajith Sriwickramasekaran will captain the Edgware CC First XI for the 2021 season after approval by the Executive Committee on Saturday 17th October.
Sajith, who has scored more than 1,200 First XI runs and taken over 40 First XI wickets, follows in the footsteps of Ciaran Hosty who stepped down from the role in September.
"It's a great honour and a wonderful opportunity to lead this team forward in 2021 and I can't wait for the challenge" said Sriwickramasekaran at the press release event at Mill Hill Village.
Nakul Jilka will serve as Sajith's right hand man during the 2021 season and Shuraj Vekaria will act as the First XI's third captain. Additionally, the club has also announced that Dharmish Bhatt and Vidanda Galgamuwa will captain and vice-captain the Second XI respectively, whilst Rahul Kothari will captain the T20 XI and Ananya Dixit will support as vice for the 2021 season.
Edgware anticipate there may be as many as 37 fixtures throughout 2021 and we wish the team the best of luck!
